AEOS on Hiatus

Hey all! I have posted exactly one post in the past two weeks, and I’m entering my third week without a post until now.

Back in January of 2011, I had this crazy vision for a movie blog. It was going to be everything it is now and more. Although I had some previous experience in blogging, my knowledge was still very limited. The site had multiple names, and didn’t start to take off the ground until first, I started posting regularly, and second, I found myself in the middle of a the ever-growing film community primarily built by Castor and his site Anomalous Material.

There, I feel privileged to have met so many people passionate about the same thing as me–movies.

By October of last year, I finally started to post regularly, get regular commenters, and increased traffic. By December, I had decided that I needed to post a solid 5 posts/week. I succeeded at first, and slowly started to drop from 5 posts/week to 4 to 3, and so on.

Fortunately, between the Oscars and guest writers, I was able to keep things pretty current on the site. However, life has decided to get in the way recently, and I’ve found myself at odds trying to keep up with blogging. I don’t want to quit blogging anytime soon, but unfortunately, life is not making it very convenient for me to post as regularly as I would like. I haven’t been able to visit many of your sites and leave comments, although I have enjoyed reading many of your posts from time to time.

To get to the point after a very lengthy introduction, I’m here to say that I’ll be taking an indefinite hiatus from All Eyes on Screen. This is a last resort kind of move for me, but I know that I can’t keep up with everything that’s currently happening both in my life and online right now. I promise to be back, and when I am–I’ll be sure to let you know. I hope it’s sooner rather than later. I appreciate all the feedback so many of you have left me constantly, and I plan to comment and occasionally post when I have the time.

  1. Bummer! I knew I had not seen a post from you recently. But let me say I know what you mean. Life can be so busy and sometimes life’s priorities step in. I’ve loved what you’ve done with your blog and have taken several pointers just from reading your it. I really, really hope to see you back soon. I certainly be watching for ya!

  5. Whoever says blogging is an easy job is clearly doing something wrong! It’s a lot more hard work than anyone would think.

I’ll be very sad to not see new stuff over here – it’s become one of my regular haunts! I can completely understand the pressures of blogging and then everything else you need to get done in every day life.

Hopefully, one day, we’ll see AEOS again 🙂

  6. Shame to read, but completely understandable. I think every blogger has times where he/she feels like this and sometimes it’s good to step away. Hope you’ll return!
